Chiranjibi Adhikari, General Secretary of the Federation of Computer Association Nepal (CAN), has been awarded for his services to Nepal’s information and communications technology (ICT) industry in a special cultural program hosted by Chandralok Pratishthan on the occasion of 17th Republic Day was held at the Russian High School in Kamalpokhari, Kathmandu.

A resident of Bharatpur Municipality in the Chitwan district, Mr. Adhikari is widely recognized for his expertise and involvement in cybersecurity and networking. He has made significant contributions to the ICT sector, earning global recognition.
He has also published in numerous journals on various research topics on information security and management, IT governance, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and more. After being awarded ICT Excellence 2024, Mr. Adhikari stated, “This award has further encouraged me to contribute more in the field of ICT in the future.”
Over Two Decades of Impact
With more than 21 years of experience in the ICT field, Mr. Adhikari is a prominent figure in Nepal’s cybersecurity landscape. His commitment to ICT education and raising awareness about internet safety and cybersecurity is evident from the over 500 programs he has conducted nationwide.
These programs are primarily aimed at community schools, government agencies, and the private sector, significantly improving the country’s cybersecurity situation.
Founder of Key Organizations
In addition to his role at CAN, Mr. Adhikari is the visionary behind several key organizations in Nepal’s ICT sector. He is the founder and president of the Information Security Response Team Nepal (#npCert) and the Center for Cybersecurity Research and Innovation (#CSRI). He is also the managing director of One Cover Private Limited, a leading cybersecurity company in Nepal. His academic contributions are equally noteworthy, with teaching roles at institutions like Softwarica College of IT and E-Commerce and Texas College of Management and IT.
Recognition and Achievements
The ICT Excellence Award is one of Nepal’s most esteemed honors, recognizing individuals and organizations for their contributions to the field of information and communication technology. This award aims to acknowledge and celebrate those who have made significant contributions to the growing field of ICT in Nepal. Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari’s recognition with the ICT Excellence Award 2024 demonstrates his commitment and impact on the ICT sector, both nationally and internationally. His leadership and initiatives continue to drive the ICT sector in Nepal, ensuring its growth and security in the digital age.
Mr. Adhikari’s efforts to develop ICT policies, promote new technology adoption among government agencies, and improve e-governance reflect his commitment to improving the quality of public services. His involvement in creating cybersecurity standards and frameworks and conducting various ethical hacking workshops further solidifies his position as a leader in this field.
His family is also actively involved in the ICT sector in Nepal. His wife, Mina Aryal, is Chief Editor of ICT Frame Magazine (the first women-led tech magazine and online blog in Nepal). Together, they have two children: daughter Prabidhi Adhikari and son Sanchar Adhikari.
