Chandra Prasad Dhakal, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has urged the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to increase investment in large infrastructure projects promoted by the private sector.

Speaking with the VP of ADB Ashok Lavasa during a meeting in the capital on Friday, Dhakal expressed his feelings.

Dhakal has asked the ADB to invest in large-scale infrastructure development projects promoted by the private sector as infrastructure plays a vital role in the development of the country and it will not only help in the development of the country but will also contribute to the overall development of the country.

“The countless possibilities for investment in large-scale industries are being hampered due to the lack of resources. And, the private sector has not been able to invest in infrastructure projects. ADB should expand its investment in these areas,” Dhakal urges.

Dhakal also expressed that Nepal’s Banking sector is suffering from a liquidity crunch and it requires ADB’s support to resolve it.

For which the ADB said that it is positive about this and is ready to invest in potential infrastructure in cooperation with the private sector of Nepal.
