Learn how to make the most of these benefits Send text messages to several numbers at once? Learn to take advantage of this Various institutions, offices, or organized organizations and individuals may need to send the same message (SMS) to several mobile numbers at once. Nepal Telecom is offering an SMS-based service to resolve this.

Nepal Telecom offers three types of SMS-based services. Including SMS Alert, SMS Short-code, and Web-based Bulk SMS, as per customer requirements.

SMS alerts

SMS alerts can be used in situations where you need to provide details on various mobile numbers. And do not anticipate any reply from the other side. SMS alerts can also be used to provide information on the financial transactions of different banks and financial institutions. To confirm payment, to provide information on your business, and to send relevant messages to help your business.

Before using this service, the service provider must conduct a technical test. The name of the alert shall be given to the service provider concerned. Associations & organizations can send SMS to mobile devices using the same ‘alert name.’

SMS short-code

Double contact can be achieved using an SMS shortcode.   If any SMS is sent to a mobile device through short-code. The customer who receives the SMS can also submit feedback on the informative content or request more information. This service is also useful for finding out about the results of different exams, polling on different subjects, voting, quizzing, and marketing, or promoting your company.

This service should be technically checked prior to operation and should also be approved by the Nepal Telecommunications Authority for a short 5-digit code. A numeric shortcode is given to the customer or service provider running this service. Sending an SMS to another person’s cell phone seems to have the same number.

Web-based bulk SMS

Web-based bulk SMS is a form of broadcasting service. This enables the same message to be sent to several mobile numbers at once. It can be used by schools, universities, corporate establishments, small businesses, or any other organization. Its key feature is to be able to send SMS to several people at once quickly and cheaply in a short time.

This service can be made available without further testing in a short time. For this reason, the service provider is provided with the corresponding name of the company in 11 characters and SMS can be sent to multiple numbers of the same name.

The process of taking this service Institutions wishing to use SMS alerts and shortcodes need to provide their own SMS application or system. While organizations wishing to send web-based bulk SMS would need Nepal Telecom to make the necessary arrangements. Such that no additional application or system is needed.

A formal request letter must be prepared to use SMS alerts, shortcode services, and web-based bulk SMS services. The letter should include the description of the company, the technical profile, the service intent, the potential customer, and the customer base.

A copy of the records registered in the registry of the corporation and the tax office should also be included. The letter prepared with all of these documents can be sent by e-mail to vas@ntc.net.np or registered at the nearest company office.

Following the approval of Nepal Telecom for a web-based bulk SMS service. The amount stated on the basis of the SMS volume quota should be remitted to the bank account.

After that, Nepal Telecom will create a user account for the customer and make it available to the customer. On this basis, the company has confirmed that the customer will have an SMS service.
