Every time hackers have changed their strategies to hijack the system and to leak the confidential data. They target on every device like a computer, smartphone, and tablet, even now they entirely focused on the monitor and turned them against by just changing the pixels displayed on the screen. However, the changing pixels is hard and complicated.

Ang Cui and Jatin Kataria of Red Balloon Security has demonstrated a way to hack directly into the computer which would control the monitor to see the pixels displayed on the monitor as well as manipulate the pixels to show the different images.

You might also want to know how the hacker hacks the computer monitors. Here we discuss it as well.

At first, hackers need to gain the physical access to the monitor’s USB or HDMI port which would help them to access the firmware of the display. This means that anyone with malicious intent and access to the monitor’s USB or HDMI port would be able to hijack your monitor. Furthermore, it would involve injecting malicious firmware with the aid of drive by the attack as well as manipulate on the on-screen pixels.

It’s very dangerous to hack a monitor since just changing a single button would cause a vast or large amount of damage to the nation confidential data. During the presentation of Cui and Kataria were also able to inject a photo onto a display and secure lock icon to the address field of a web browser.

So, hackers do not need to infect your computer. Even they hack your monitor; they merely manipulate the pixels to display a ransomware message permanently on your screen as depending payment to remove the word. So the hackers would log the pixels produced by the monitor and effectively spy on the target users.
