Infrastructure Idea Hunt 2022 featured 49 latest business ideas for infrastructure development. 6 ideas have been selected from 49 ideas that were pitched at the Infrastructure Marketplace on Friday under the 4th edit of Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2022.

Selected projects include Traffic Tracking by Kapil Adhikari, Rice Transplanter by Saurabh Singh Chaudhary, Highway and Rapid Traffic Management Control System by Joseph Shrestha, Mini Combine Harvester by Kiran Gurung, Integrating Vehicle Occupancy with Timing in Traffic Light Software by Narayan Prasad and Ghar Banau.com by Tulips.

The 6 shortlisted startups were given 3 minutes each to pitch their business ideas. The top three business ideas will secure the first, second and third position in the program and will receive a cash prize of Rs 150,000, Rs 1 lakh, and Rs 50,000 respectively.

Appreciating all the ideas pitched, Physical Infrastructure and Transport Ministry Secretary Gopal Prasad Sigdel says, ‘The idea on traffic jams will work well.’

Idea Ghar Banau.com is a complete solution for building a home. It works to sell construction materials at cheap prices. In addition, it has been trusted to help in contract and quality construction, including making house maps.

Similarly, the highway and adaptive traffic management control system helps in traffic management, the price of which ranges from 5,000 to 25,000. It is planned to start in Province 1 as a pilot project. It serves from a satellite.

Another project is Rice Transplanter, which has manufactured machines in Chaitra. It is built only for lowland land. Similarly, it works to innovate the technology of rice planting in Nepal and to plant rice as quickly as possible.

Traffic tracking works to find solutions to traffic jams. By harnessing the data, it works with data and tracking from CCTV and telephone. It also works to keep track of moving traffic.

A project to integrate vehicle occupancy with timing in traffic light software works on wireless communication. It collects traffic data from each intersection. It is called intelligent traffic light.

It can be operated from the camera itself. Data on vehicles can be collected from this. It is believed that if it can be operated by connecting it to the server and system, the traffic jam will be reduced by 75 percent.

A mini combine harvester also does the harvesting and planting of paddy.
