Software Freedom Day is a globally celebrated day on 3rd Saturday of September every year. So for this year, 2016, SFD is going to be celebrated on 17th September 2016. In Nepal also, it is marked as a special day and is celebrated throughout the country. Likewise, in Eastern Engineering College, Radhakrishna, Marga, Biratnagar-1, and Nepal; SFD is going to be celebrated at 10 am onwards. So give enthusiastic, active participation for this program.
For this year, the Global theme is “FREEDOM MATTERS!” and the main aim of this is to increase awareness of Open Source and its virtues and encouraging its use. Besides, it is also a day to celebrate the Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) Philosophy together with Nepal Open Source Klub (NOK).
