Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) has launched a new website with statistics on scientists and engineers.
Nast launched a website named whoiswho.nast.gov.np in a program on Friday. NAST Vice-Chancellor Dr. Sunil Babu Shrestha pressed a button on the computer to launch the website. The website has been launched with the aim that anyone can easily find the statistics of scientists and technicians working in the field of science and technology.
Earlier, by publishing the book ‘Who is Who Science, Technology, and Innovation of Nepal, Ph.D.’, NAST had been providing data to the Government of Nepal, Foreign Affairs, Universities, and other research bodies.
Now, when anyone who accesses this new website types a topic, the names of the relevant experts will appear. Also, personal details, educational details, work details, etc. of experts are provided on the website. In addition, you can view the details of the scientists who have joined Nast’s ‘who is who’ so far.
To contact any expert, you have to use an ‘advance’ search. A list of experts will appear when you search for a topic in the menu at the top left. Along with this, if you click on the icon size of the message box in the line of the expert’s name, a new page will appear for contacting the expert. You can write your message or proposal to the expert from that page
Currently, the website has statistics of those who have obtained a Ph.D., and scientists who have made discoveries without formal study are not included.
Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Induvikram Jaeshi, Associate Professor of Nepal Open University Dr. Bhajeraj Ghimire, President of Women Scientists Forum Nepal Prada. Anjana Singh, staff of various branches of NAST, scientists, and students were present at the launch.
