National ICT Education Scholarship 2075 Announced

Federation of Computer Association of Nepal has been working in the field of Information and communication technology since 1992. This year CAN Federation has come up with the National ICT Scholarship 2075 in partnership with Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF).

The objective of overall Nepal’s Scholarship scheme is to award scholarships to meritorious students belonging to economically weaker sections of the community to provide the best opportunities for higher education in the area of Infomation Communication and Technology. , increase their rate of attainment in higher education and enhance their employability. One of the possible steps to reverse the trend is to encourage more female students to undertake STEM-related fields, especially information and communication technology.

LORD BUDDHA TIE UP CAN FEDERATION

LBEF is the implementing partner for this scholarship.  Founded in 1998, LBEF is the first IT college of Nepal with over 7000+ graduates. Programmes offered at LBEF CAMPUS are approved by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Nepal and recognized by the Tribhuvan University (TU) Nepal.

The Total of Forty Nine students will be awarded scholarship throughout the country; out of which seven students will be chosen from 7 states of Nepal. This scholarship will help to minimize the digital divide in rural areas of Nepal. In this scholarship, 28 seats are divided for Female Candidates, and 21 seats allocated for general category. Out of which one female from each state will get the full scholarship and rest 42 students will get partial scholarships.

This MoU made between CAN Federation, and LBEF signed by HemantChaurasiya, President (CAN Federation) and Pankaj Jalan, Chairperson (LBEF). According to this MoU, the total scholarship amount is eighteen million three hundred thirty-six thousand.

All scholarships awarded students will study at Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), Malaysia. APU is amongst Malaysia’s Premier Private Universities, with more than 11,000 students from over 110 countries. APU is amongst the Highest Rated Emerging Malaysian Universities – 5 STAR (Excellent Rating) – SETARA 2017.

The scholarships will be awarded to study B.Sc.(Hons) In Information Technology at LBEF CAMPUS, Maitidevi. Students who have completed Higher Studies or equivalent from the reputed board or Diploma in Computer Engineering from CTVET along with 50% in 10+2 and 50% marks in Mathematics at Grade 10th Level, can apply for this scholarship. Students who have recently appeared grade 12 exams can also use.

CAN Federation will form central, state and district level committee to award this scholarship by grade 10 and 12 marks sheet, permanent residence, economic conditions and recommendations from the local authority.

Those who are Interested can apply through CAN Federation website www.can.org.np or Lord Buddha Education Foundation website www.lbef.org before 25th July 2018. Students must submit passport size photo, Birth Certificate/Citizenship, SEE and 10+2 mark sheet/entrance card of grade 12 and a recommendation letter from the local authority.
