Nawalparasi Transport Management Office Drop the Revenue in Vehicle Registrations

The Transport Management Office in Nawalparasi reported a revenue collection of NPR 30 million 35 thousand 953 rupees for the last financial year.

Despite this significant revenue, the office observed a notable decrease in the number of new vehicle registrations.

Milan Bahadur KC, the head of the District Transport Management Office, indicated that the revenue collection figures are comparable to those of the fiscal year 2079/80. For the previous year, the office collected NPR 2,386,005,313 in vehicle tax, NPR 5,652,918 from driver’s licenses and vehicle registration books, NPR 38,046,430 from the transport sector, and NPR 802,690 in other administrative service fees.

In terms of vehicle registrations, the office registered 1,727 vehicles last year, a decrease from the 7,838 vehicles registered in 2079/80. Specifically, last year saw 1,0489 two-wheelers, 28 private cars/vans, 3 government motorcycles, 13 private buses and trucks, 5 government buses, 6 government vehicles, 2 pickup vans, 24 public buses and trucks, 4 tractors, 74 rental tempos, and 79 private tempos.

The report also highlighted that 6,683 two-wheelers were registered in 2079/80 compared to just 1,489 last year. Additionally, 70 candidates participated in the written test for driver’s licenses, with 72 percent passing. All new and renewed driver’s licenses up to January 15 have been printed, with the distribution of smart licenses now underway.
