Sunaina Ghimire Pandy has been honoured with the ‘Ncell Woman ICON ICT Award 2023’. The award was presented at the grand finale event of the Up Grad ICT Awards 2023 held at The Soaltee Kathmandu on Friday.
Pandey, who has been working in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field for more than 25 years, is the first Woman Vice President of the Computer Association (CAN) Federation. She is Managing Director of General Technology Private Limited and has also served as General Secretary and Secretary of CAN Federation.
The award was jointly presented to Pandey by Jabbor Kayumov, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Ncell and Pramila Devi Bajracharya, Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
To encourage women in ICT and appreciate their contribution in this field, Ncell has been conferring ‘Ncell Woman ICON ICT Award’ since 2020 in line with the company’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy. The award carries a purse of Rs. 300,000.

This year, ICT Award 2023 received nomination of 34 nominations for this award and Pandey through evaluation by an independent jury was selected as the winner from among the 7 women achievers shortlisted for this recognition. Women’s involvement in ICT ensures that the benefits of technological advancements are distributed more equitably, promoting social and economic inclusion.
Every year, the ICT Award is awarded by ICT Foundation Nepal and Living with ICT to individuals, innovation and organizations for outstanding achievements and excellence in the field of ICT. Ncell has been collaborating with the ICT Award for the ‘Ncell Woman ICON ICT Award’.
