Nepal Chamber Partners Nepal Mediciti to Provide Exclusive Healthcare Benefits
25th June 2026, Kathmandu
In a significant move to boost workplace wellness and accessible healthcare, the Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Nepal Mediciti Hospital have officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Nepal Chamber Partners Nepal Mediciti
This strategic alliance is designed to provide comprehensive, subsidized medical services to Chamber officials, employees, district members, and their immediate families.
The agreement was formally signed at the Chamber Building in Jamal, Kathmandu. Mr. Mrigendra Meher Shrestha, Coordinator of the Chamber’s Health Committee, signed on behalf of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, while Dr. Amit Tomar, Chief Executive Officer, represented Nepal Mediciti Hospital.
Key Highlights of the Healthcare Alliance
The partnership, initially effective for one year, bridges corporate commerce with world-class medical facilities. Under this agreement, executive committee members, staff, and district affiliates, along with their immediate dependents (spouses, parents, and up to two children under the age of 22), will receive premium medical services and exclusive discounts at Nepal Mediciti.
Dedicated Healthcare Discounts
As Nepal Chamber partners with Nepal Mediciti, members can access direct financial relief during medical consultations and treatments. Nepal Mediciti will extend a 10% discount on both:
-
Inpatient (IPD) Services
-
Outpatient (OPD) Services
Note on Exclusions: Please note that this 10% discount does not apply to medicines, consumable medical supplies, implants, pre-bundled packages, and external diagnostic tests. Additionally, the discount cannot be combined with direct cashless insurance services.
Preventive Health and Wellness Programs
Beyond individual clinical care, this collaboration places a heavy emphasis on preventive healthcare and community well-being. Nepal Mediciti has committed to delivering long-term health initiatives for the Chamber, including:
Bi-annual Health Awareness Programs: Conducted twice a year to promote preventive care and timely health screenings.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Training: Essential emergency response training for Chamber staff.
Specialized Health Packages: Customized diagnostic bundles tailored for corporate wellness.
Blood Donation Drives: Jointly organized initiatives to support community blood banks.
To ensure seamless execution, confidentiality, and smooth operational coordination, both organizations will appoint dedicated point-of-contact individuals.
Leadership Perspectives: Health as the Foundation of Wealth
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce, expressed high optimism about the partnership’s socio-economic impact. He noted that the partnership opens up streamlined access to tertiary care for the Nepalese business community.
“Regular health check-ups and preventive medicine are foundational to building a healthy, productive business community,” Agrawal stated. “Health and economic development are deeply complementary. A healthy workforce is the ultimate backbone of national economic prosperity.”
Adding to this sentiment, Dr. Upendra Mahato, Chairman of Nepal Mediciti Hospital, emphasized that this agreement is less of a new contract and more of a continuation of a long-standing relationship between the two prestigious institutions.
Dr. Mahato reiterated Mediciti’s unwavering commitment to delivering patient-centered, world-class healthcare to Nepalese entrepreneurs and professionals. He added that such alliances reinforce the hospital’s corporate social responsibility while setting a benchmark for how the health and corporate sectors can collaborate for a healthier nation.
