Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce

Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI) held a bilateral meeting on 10th Oct 2022 to discuss investing for business development in Nepal.

The meeting was led by the Vice President of NICCI Mr. Sanjay Agrawal.

Italian Ambassador to both India & Nepal Mr. Vincenzo De Luca & Consulate General of Italy in Kolkata Mr. Gianluca Rubagotti, Consulate General of Delhi for Italy, and Consulate General to Italy for Nepal Mrs. Pratima Rana Pande were present in the meeting.

Mr. Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, an Honorary member of NICCI also attended the meeting as a special guest. Other senior Executive committee members of NICCI were present in the meeting to discuss various opportunities between Nepal & Italy.

Italian Ambassador Mr. Vincenzo De Luca said The Italian Embassy plans to hold a trade fair for all Italian brands and products available in Nepal.

We are also planning to organize various projects to promote Italian brands in Nepal in various ways and similarly promote Nepalese brands in Italy as well.

He also mentioned his interest to invest in various developmental sectors to promote Nepalese entrepreneurs and businesses in Nepal and provide his best support to flourish Nepalese businesses in Italy.

Mr. Sanjay Agrawal, Vice President of NICCI said ‘The Nepal-Italy Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NICCI) has the vision to make Nepal a part of the “Grand International Expo” in Rome in 2030 to cover sector of evolution and regeneration of territories threatened by climate change, diversity and inclusion of communities, national and international decentralization and mobility, and digital connectivity for economic and social development.

NICCI also has planned to place one pavilion of Nepal in the upcoming “Milan Trade Fair 2023” which will happen in March 2023 to promote Nepali business, products, and culture in Italy.

Nepal and Italy are culturally rich and share their cultures. The friendship between the countries has grown even more significantly since Nepal’s earthquake of 2015 when Italy raised funds for Nepal.

The meeting was also an opportunity for promoting Nepal business trade and tourism in Italy and vice versa.
