Nepal Fintech Summit 2019

FinTech Conference for the First Time in Nepal, an emphasis on cybersecurity and Digital Transformation. Registration is open. Are you an ambitious FinTech professional who is interested in attending the Nepal FinTech Summit and Expo?

The International Conference on Financial Technology (Fintech) will be held for the first time in Nepal.

The FinTech summit will be held at the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu on Friday, December 13th and 14th, hosted by India’s United Business Compliance (UBC). ICT Professional Association of Nepal is the co-organizer of the conference called ‘Nepal Fintech Summit & Expo’

The conference aims to innovate the Fin-Tech and cybersecurity ecosystem in Nepal by bringing in leading FinTech leaders from around the world. It also aims at encouraging the use of technology in the financial markets of Nepal.

According to the ICT Professional Association of Nepal, the co-organizer of the financial sector, including the regulatory bodies, banks, and insurance companies, information communication and technology (IT) entrepreneurs, international technicians, IT professionals, will be present.  The discussions will be on new technologies coming into the global market, including Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Online payment, etc. As the main agenda of the conference is to discuss cybersecurity and digital transformation, there will be 20 speakers, including ten from foreign countries.

AI consultant and Managing Director Of One Cover Private Limited Dr. Pramod Parajuli, President of Nepal Institute of Directors, Roshan Kumar Pokhrel, Manager of Nepal Stock Exchange Nirajan Phuyal, Assistant Director of Insurance Board of Nepal Rajendra Maharjan, General Secretary of Nepal Microfinance Bankers Association and Basanta Lamsal, are among the speakers.

According to the organizer, fifteen stalls will also be set up at the conference. Foreign companies associated with cybersecurity and finance technology will be involved in the booth. Besides, companies like e-Services, Khalti, Prabhupay, who are working on online payment, will also be included in the program.

President of ICT Professional Association of Nepal Milan Raj Nepali said the conference expected to increase the use of technology in the financial sector of Nepal. “Currently the financial sector of Nepal is stepping forward on the use of technology,” he said, “in such cases, banks and financial institutions and insurance companies are encouraged to use the technology. UBC has organized such a conference in Nepal as part of its annual program.

The conference is supported by the Nepal Bankers Association, Insurance Institute Nepal and Banking, Finance and Insurance Institute of Nepal. The ticketing partner is Khalti for the meeting. UBC is based in Bangalore, India and has been conducting seminars and trade conferences globally on related economic issues. The conference is an opportunity for banks and insurance companies to get a sound understanding of technologies.
