Telecom is looking forward to providing free phone “SIM” to people aged 60 and above, from 15th Asoj onwards till 25th Asoj.

According to Telecom spokesperson Mr. Rajesh Joshi, the SIM has a balance of Rs.10 and can be used for 40 minutes of conversation, 20 messages, and 60 MB of data. He said that the facility will be available only for one month.

The International Senior Citizens’ Day, which is celebrated globally on October 1, is on the 15th of Asoj.

The telecom has decided to provide the facility from the same date onwards. The facility will be available to senior citizens from the counters of Telecom offices across the nation. One passport-sized photo, citizenship card, and age disclosure certificate must be submitted to get this facility.

Under its corporate social responsibility, the free SIM facility provided to senior citizens across the country will help in bringing senior citizens in access to telecommunications and information technology which will make the global world small, as per the telecom.
