Redmi Earbuds S Overview
Just to clarify, the newly launched earbud from Redmi is a rebranded Redmi AirDots S. The product was launched in China about a few months ago.
Appearance
Remember Redmi AirDots from last year? If you do, then you already have a pretty good idea about the new earbud’s design.
The earbuds take an in-ear approach which gives a much better seal, which means it has a comfortable fit and design. Each earbud comes with matte black plastic and weighs just 4.1g.
Furthermore, these Redmi earbuds come inside a compact pill-shaped charging case, also with a matte black finish. The case has a micro-USB port for charging with magnets to safely house the earbuds.
Driver and Connection
Talk about noise cancellation! The Redmi Earbuds S has 4.2mm dynamic drivers with DS intelligent technology.
The Bluetooth 5.0 technology on these earbuds provides hassle-free pairing. Moreover, it delivers a stable connection and lower latency.
Features
You can make use of the individual connection by switching to single-earbud mode. If you remove the second earbud from the charging case, it will automatically switch back to dual-earbud mode.
Talking more about the latency, dedicated gaming mode on these earbuds bring wireless latency to 122ms. Xiaomi claims the lowest audio lag while playing games with Redmi Earbuds S.
Furthermore, these earbuds come with an IPX4 rating making it sweat and splash resistant.
Battery
Each earbud sports a 43mAh battery. Meanwhile, the charging case has a capacity of 300mAh and as mentioned, can be charged using a micro-USB port.
The company claims that these earbuds are capable of providing 12 hours of usage with the charging case.
