Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Fourth Quarter Financial Report Fiscal Year 2082/83 Overview

Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company Salico has demonstrated a strong business presence by publishing its financial results for the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2082/83.

The company has made significant progress in expanding its business and strengthening customer confidence. However, rising claim payments and expenses appear to have put some pressure on overall net profit.
Strong Growth in Premium Collection and Policy Volume
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company achieved a 10.72 percent increase in net insurance premium income during the review period. Net insurance premium income is widely regarded as a key indicator of core business expansion.
In fiscal year 2081 82, net insurance premium income stood at 2.11 billion rupees. That figure increased to 2.34 billion rupees by the end of the latest fiscal year.
Along with revenue growth, the company expanded its customer reach by issuing more insurance policies. The total number of insurance policies issued grew from 153,704 in the previous fiscal year to 269,998 policies in the latest fiscal year.
Rising Claim Payments and Operational Expenses
The rapid expansion of business was accompanied by a significant increase in liabilities and operating costs for Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company. Total claim payments went up by 36.92 percent over the course of the year.
The company paid out total claims of 4.96 billion rupees in the latest fiscal year, compared to 3.63 billion rupees paid out in the previous fiscal year.
Agent commission expenses also rose sharply by 78.32 percent during the review period. At the same time, investment income declined by 31.89 percent, while total overall expenses increased by 10.35 percent across operations.
Net Profit and Earnings Per Share Analysis
Due to higher expenses, claim obligations, and lower investment returns, net profit for Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company declined by 22.35 percent compared to the prior year.
In the previous fiscal year, the company had earned a net profit of 403.2 million rupees. In the latest fiscal year, net profit fell down to 313.0 million rupees.
Earnings per share EPS also dropped along with bottom line profit. The earnings per share fell from 15.37 rupees in the previous fiscal year to 11.94 rupees in the latest financial report.
Capital Structure Reserves and Fund Movement
Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance Company maintains a total paid up capital of 2.62 billion rupees.
To bolster financial risk management, the catastrophe reserve fund of the company was increased by 14.67 percent to reach 244.7 million rupees.
However, the main insurance fund experienced a reduction during the year. The insurance fund declined by 17.16 percent to stand at 5.54 billion rupees.
Retained earnings in the reserve fund also saw a mild decline, ending the fourth quarter at 347.9 million rupees.
