Whitehouse Partners With Dating Apps To Encourage Vaccination

Covid-19, a worldwide pandemic, has created lots of troubles for everyone and loss in every sector. Many people lost their lives. The economic status of many countries has fallen.

It was very difficult for the doctors and scientists the develop vaccines and covid-shields. But, finally, they are successful in developing the vaccine. The vaccines prevent the virus. It also helps to control from spreading of the virus.

COVID-19 vaccine

A Covid-19 vaccine is a vaccine that intends to provide acquired immunity against various problems. The problems include respiratory syndrome, coronavirus 2. On 24 June 2020, China approved the Cansino vaccine for limited use only. The vaccine was used in the military, and inactivated virus vaccines for emergency use in high-risk occupations. On 11 August 2020, Russia announced the approval of its Sputnik V vaccine for emergency use.

Reasons of Hesitation for the Vaccination:

We can see thousands of people are still very hesitant about getting the Covid-19 vaccines. Several predations of myths and misunderstandings on social media results in hesitancy. For example, people have rumored that the vaccine could affect fertility. Many people also believe in having ‘life-threatening reactions’ to the vaccine. People have a fear of long-time side effects.  They believe that they get the virus from the vaccine. Some religious people believe that their faith will protect them. The hesitation in people for the vaccination is due to a lack of proper information.  They are afraid there might be long-term side effects from vaccines. There is the belief that youth and good health people will protect a person from the vaccination.

Encouragement for vaccination

The US is trying to give 70% of adults at least one vaccine shot by 4 July. There are various hands out to encourage people to get vaccinated. The White House is partnering with nine popular dating apps to encourage Americans to get vaccinated. It offers special perks to users who have received their Covid-19 shot -in an attempt. It is done to overcome the vaccine hesitation among few people. White House partners with nine apps for encouraging the people. The White House is trying to encourage the adults. The adults are the future of tomorrow. They are the nation builders. The initiative of the encouragement for the vaccines is for the health and life of the citizens.

The apps participating in the initiative are the Match Group-owned Tinder, OkCupid, BLK, Hinge, Chispa, Match, Plenty of Fish, Bumble, and Badoo. Vaccinated users will receive special access to a host of perks on these apps. It includes boosts, super likes, and special stickers displayed on their profile. It shows that the users have received the vaccination shot.

Some apps like OkCupid allow users to filter the potential matches by their vaccination status. Tinder will offer resources and detailed information about nearby vaccination sites. Bumble and Badoo will allow U.S.users to add a ‘vaccinated’ badge to their profiles. It also offers them credit towards premium features like ‘supervise.

Further Initiatives

It is still unclear how the apps will verify a person’s vaccination status. CNN report suggests the users submit proof of vaccination. The percentage represents the matches people receive on OkCupid whether they are vaccinated or planning to get vaccinated. Along with the apps, the administration is also working with NASCAR, country music organizations, social media, and other organizations. The effort is done to reach out to those who are hesitant about receiving the vaccine shot.

Not the only US, but The state of New Jersey has also launched “Shot and a Beer,” offering free beer to those who get their first dose in May. The GreenHouse of Walled Lake, marijuana in Michigan, is giving out ‘pot for shots’. Officials in Dubai have allowed a fortnight’s gym membership for the people who have been vaccinated. In Rajkot, Gujarat, goldsmiths have banded together to give women free gold nose pins for getting vaccinated, and the men are offered a hand blender.
