YouTube has added the hashtag functionality to the video-sharing platform. Youtube introduces a new form of search result. Which shows the video as the users search for the video by hashtag.
This feature has been used on other social networks since the hashtag was first introduced by Twitter and Instagram.
YouTube first introduced the search functionality of the hashtag in 2018, but it never performed well. Previously, when searching for hashtags, hashtag-related content would appear. But other content would also appear which doesn’t include in the hashtag.
Now, when searching for a particular hashtag on YouTube on a web or mobile app. Users can see a dedicated page containing only hashtag videos.
Google is organizing YouTube videos using metadata tags. Now, clicking on the hashtag at the end of the video or at the beginning of the video will open a page with related videos.
This feature can also be accessed by typing www.youtube.com/hashtag/yourwords. YouTube has started highlighting only tagged videos due to this feature.
