International Girls’ in ICT Day is an initiative backed by International Telecommunication Union (ITU) the Member States in Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Guadalajara, 2010) to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs). International Girls in ICT Day is celebrated on the 4th Thursday in April every year. International Girls in ICT Day will be next to be observed on 23rd April 2015.

On the auspicious occasion of International Girls in ICT Day on 23rd April 2015, Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) is organizing a Presentation Contest on “Expand the Horizons, Change Attitudes.” Hence, interested girls from any school/college/university +2/undergraduate level) are requested to send their presentations (in Nepali or English) not exceeding 20 slides along with a copy of valid student identity card to NTA at rkbasukala@nta.gov.np or spandey@nta.gov.np within 13th April 2015. The winners of the presentation contest shall be awarded by NTA on Girls in ICT Day, 23rd April 2015.

Meanwhile, ICT related companies, government agencies, academic institutions, NGOs working in the field of women empowerment and other interested organizations are requested to organize local or national events on International Girls in ICT Day on 23rd April 2015 targeting teenage girls and university students with prior information to NTA.
