NTA Chairperson Candidates Shortlisted: Presentation and Interview Schedule Announced

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) has shortlisted 9 candidates out of 32 applicants for the vacant Chairman and Member positions at the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA).

The ministry has scheduled the business plan presentation and interviews for July 8 (Asar 24). Shortlisted candidates, including Arjun Ghimire, Anil Kumar Jha, and Rajib Subba, are required to present original documents and soft copies of their presentations. Around one and a half months after publishing the names of the applicants, the government has finally called the shortlisted candidates for the vacant Chairman and Member positions at the Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) for interviews and business plan presentations.
The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) had invited applications for these leadership roles back in April/May (Baishakh). Nearly two months later, the ministry has finally scheduled the timeline and venue for the final evaluation phase. According to the official notice, separate presentation and interview schedules have been fixed for the shortlisted candidates for both the Chairman and Member positions.
Only 9 Out of 32 Applicants Make the Shortlist
Out of the 32 professionals who originally threw their hats into the ring, the ministry has narrowed the selection down to just 9 individuals. Only these shortlisted candidates have been cleared to move forward to the business plan presentation and interview round.

Presentations Scheduled for July 8 (Asar 24)
The business plan presentations and interviews for the 9 contenders are scheduled to take place on Asar 24 (July 8). The ministry’s notice explicitly highlights that the scheduled program will run as planned even if the government declares a public holiday on that day.
Strict Guidelines and Required Documents for Candidates
MoCIT has laid down a strict set of rules and compliance guidelines for the candidates appearing in the selection rounds:
Reporting Time: Candidates must arrive at the designated venue at least 30 minutes before their individual interview time slot.
Soft Copy of Business Plan: Applicants must bring the soft copy of their professional business plan presentation.
Original Documentation: Candidates are strictly required to present the original copies of all educational degrees, certifications, and documents submitted with their initial application.
Experience Verification: For those who submitted professional employment history, original experience certificates issued by their respective employing organizations must be presented.
As the selection process for the leadership of Nepal’s telecom regulatory body enters its final stretch, anticipation is mounting across the country’s ICT and corporate sectors regarding who will secure the top spot at the NTA.
