Near Death Of Adobe Flash

Share It On:

Recently, Google came up with some decisions that look like the latest attack on the adobe flash. From now on google chrome which is one of the most widely used internet browsers and has a market share of 28% won’t be showing adobe flash advertisements automatically. It will be done at the starting of September.

We have known Flash at least since it became the standard for standard web content from the early 2000s. As HTML 5, the new version of markup language came up with the support of video and animations itself; there was a huge probability that they might go mainstream shortly.

Even Apple had not made their I phones, and I pad support flash which however didn’t let to its death as it was alive in the desktop and used by advertisement. However, with this decision of the search giant, it is undoubtedly going to make a high impact on the company.

It might seem like flash has been hated by most. But it is not just due to some financial rivalry. The things are, a scientist has found out that lightning has been responsible for slowing down computers, decreasing battery life and even containing more holes in security which can compromise users computers.
Till now flash had been an essential part of the desktop world. Even though it had been off the mobile phones from google and apple, the use of flash in desktop and laptop was enormous. However with the criticism by tech giants like Google and Facebook, its high time that it would be a myth among the desktop users too in the future.
With the emerging new technology and vulnerabilities seen on flash, there is very less probability that it will carry on its business like before. HTML 5 might be the successor, or we might say replacing the element of the flash with the support that it has been earning recently. To look from another point of view.
In today’s date, most of the users are the mobile users and mobiles doesn’t support flash rather HTML 5 which is faster and doesn’t drain the battery as well. Hackers are said to love it because even if with the high security added in the browsers in today’s date, they can find vulnerabilities so that they can carry out whatever they want.
The only reason flash is considered even till today’s date is because of its advertisement.  In June, over 100 million ads were displayed to users globally with Flash, while 84% of banner ads are still Flash. This is the reason why companies that were using advertisements as their pillars so skeptical about cutting off the flash. Another platform which was not much into publications had already banned flash ads from appearing in their ads platform.
But now with the google step, ads by flash would not run by default and should be enabled which is very unlikely to be done by the users. Therefore this marks the beginning of the end of Adobe Flash unless flash plans to take some significant changes so that it can reduce all the vulnerabilities and still be popular among the desktop users. To be true, now it needs to compete with HTML 5 as well to be nonreplaceable.
