The Pro 13 models of the iPhone 13 will have a 120 Hz LTPO LED panel and the Vanilla models will have a 60 Hz display.
The LTPO panel will be made only by Samsung and it will not be able to supply all the demand in the market, so Apple has not been able to put this display on all devices.
But now that LG is also planning to produce LTPO OLED from next year, it is estimated that its availability in the market will increase and in this regard, it can be used in many devices.
According to Korean technology site Dilek, LG is confident it will be able to supply enough of the panel for the iPhone 14’s lineup.
It is understood that LG is in talks with Avto, an equipment supplier to make the LTPO panel, and is seeking permission to take the panel for the product lineup.
Only then will Avco be able to ship equipment to LG’s production plant.
If all goes according to plan, LG will be able to compete with Samsung by supplying LTPO OLED panels for models other than the iPhone 14 Pro.
This will help Apple diversify its display panel suppliers and end its reliance on Samsung displays.
