Internet users in Nepal are rising at an exclamatory rate (thanks to the Digital Nepal campaign).

There were 10.21 million internet users in Nepal in January 2020. The number of internet users in Nepal increased by 315 thousand (+3.2%) between 2019 and 2020. Internet penetration in Nepal stood at 35% in January 2020.

These internets are provided through different Internet Service Providers (ISPs). Among them, ClassicTech and Subisu are two of the giant internet service providers along with Worldink.

So which one is better? ClassicTech or Subisu? Let’s find out in this article.

Establishment

ClassicTech was formed in 2009 with the main goal to help customers to keep in touch, do business, and to flourish regardless of the distance by using the latest and upgraded technology. Like any other company, they tend to be a leading internet service provider throughout the nation.

Subisu Cablenet Pvt Ltd was established in 2001. It means it is older than ClassicTech. However, in the name of ISP, Subisu is not widely heard and appreciated as much as other ISPs. Their main goal is to provide diversified IT products and services at competitive prices thereby achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.

Vision

ClassicTech: To provide quality internet and network service with higher speed and greater reliability. Responsive customer support with value-added service that provides complete satisfaction to our customers is our first and also the endeavor of ClassicTech.

Subisu: To transform ideas and innovation into viable and creative solution by leveraging the strength of state of art technology and by nurturing and harnessing the skills of well trained, motivated, and committed contribution to the social and economic development phenomena of the country.

Packages

ClassicTech:

It has two plans generally known as Home Plans and Enterprise Plans. In its home plan, there are three different internet packages to choose from, 30 Mbps, 40 Mbps, and 60 Mbps.

Similarly, the Enterprise plan also has three different internet packages; 25 Mbps, 35 Mbps, and 50 Mbps. With the increase in internet users, the ISPs bring different features to their packages. So, ClassicTech brings these packages with the option for a free TV package. Prabhu TV comes free at cost later with more than 250 SD & HD channels at a one-time cost.

Subisu:

With Subisu,  we get only one home plan with three different internet packages. 20 Mbps, 35 Mbps, and 45 Mbps as fiber to the home  (FTTH) internet service. There is an option for choosing the package with a TV (Clear TV). We can even only subscribe to the Clear TV package.

Also, with Subisu, there is a plan for the wireless internet package which has three different internet packages with speeds of 2 Mbps, 3 Mbps, and 5 Mbps.

Cost

The cost of packages is not constant and keeps on changing. As of this date, 24 Nov 2020, the  cost of home plan internet packages for a year’s subscription are as follows:

ClassicTech –

30 Mbps – Rs. 15,000/- with free  IPTV

40 Mbps – Rs. 17,496/- with free IPTV

60 Mbps – Rs. 21,996/- with free IPTV

Subisu –

30 Mbps – Rs. 14,500/- with Clear TV

40 Mbps – Rs. 17,000/- with Clear TV

60 Mbps – Rs. 21,500/- with Clear TV

Note: Above mentioned costs are only after the installation of the device and to renew new ones. The one-time cost of installation of IPTV and Clear TV is required along with the other internet devices.

TIP: Go through the homepage of both of the ISPs to get a clear knowledge about the pricing of the package at this point of reading.

Users

ClassicTech has its very wide network with over coverage into 74 districts of Nepal. The number of users is respectively high in the case of ClassicTech. Although Subisu has its coverage on 60 districts, the number of users is comparatively lesser (according to the different groups of Facebook users and polls).

Conclusion

For the price of the internet package, ClassicTech seems to be a little bit expensive than Subisu. But, the customer service and the number of users make ClassicTech one of the best ISP among other Internet Service Providers (ISPs). However, before choosing your ISP do collect reviews of others near your locality.
