With the rapid launch of brand new smartphones in Nepal, looks like Vivo doesn’t want to take a backseat. Recently, Vivo unveiled the premium-range Vivo V19 in Nepal. And, without wasting any time, it has already launched a new addition in its Y series – the Vivo Y30 in Nepal.
Launched globally in May, it made its debut in the Indian smartphone market on July 3. Not so long after, we got to see the Vivo Y30 making its way to Nepal.
So, let’s have a look at the specs and price of the recently launched Y series lineup from Vivo.
Vivo Y30 Overview
Design & Display
The Vivo Y30 has a plastic build with a glass front and weighs 197 grams. The smartphone comes with a 6.47-inch IPS LCD iView display and a resolution of 720 x 1560px. It also features a punch-hole display on the front.
In addition to that, Vivo has customized many app interfaces to seamlessly integrate with the display. The eye protection mode on this smartphone adjusts the display’s color to relieve eye strain and provide visual comfort.
Talking about the design, the delicate 3D curves on the Vivo Y30 seamlessly vanish into the sleek lines of the side panels. Thus, buyers get an elegant and refined design.
In fact, some aspects of its design resemble that of the Vivo V19. It also has a really sleek design with a premium look. However, it only has an HD panel for such an anticipated Vivo smartphone.
Camera
At the back, you can see a rectangular quad-camera module with a 13MP primary sensor. Other sensors include an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor with an f/2.2 aperture, a 2MP depth shooter, and another 2MP macro sensor. These cameras come with features like Auto Flash, Face detection, Digital Zoom, and Touch to focus.
On the front, the Vivo Y30 has an 8MP camera sensor with an f/2.05 aperture. Furthermore, the front camera sensor supports AI-backed features for enhanced photography experience.
Performance & Memory
The chipset used in the Vivo Y30 is a huge letdown. Vivo has gone with MediaTek Helio P35, which came out in 2018. Powering the smartphone is an Octa-core processor while PowerVR GE8320 takes care of the graphics.
Moreover, the Vivo Y30 comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. Luckily, buyers will be able to expand the storage further (up to 256GB) via a dedicated microSD card slot. The mobile phone runs on Android v10 and has Funtouch 10 on top.
Battery
The smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with no support for fast charging. However, it does come with 5W reverse charging capability and a 10W charger in the box.
Furthermore, the Vivo Y30 supports about 9 hours of online gameplay and about 137.09 hours of local music.
Other Features
Besides the obvious ones, the Vivo Y30 also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also retains the 3.5mm headphone jack and provides a loudspeaker option as well.
In the connectivity options, buyers get 4G LTE, WiFi, Bluetooth v5.0, FM radio, USB Type-C, and GPS.

Vivo Model | Price in Nepal | Availability |
Vivo Y30 (4/64GB) | Rs. 25,999 | From July 7, 2020
(*Available from the nearest mobile stores) |
Vivo Y30 (4/128GB) | Rs. 27,999 |
As mentioned earlier, the chipset is a major concern since Vivo released Vivo Y17 last year in May with the same chipset. Therefore, it isn’t powerful to compete with the latest mid-range smartphones like Samsung M21 or even Redmi Note 9.
