inDriver, an international ride-hailing service, has launched its services in Kathmandu, the largest city in Nepal.
inDriver connects drivers and passengers and allows them to independently agree on all the terms of each trip. inDriver’s Real-Time Deals (RTD) model enables passengers to offer their price for their selected route and get counter-offers directly from nearby drivers.
In turn, drivers have the freedom to decide for themselves which ride requests suit them best, and can suggest their own prices.
Unlike other ride-hailing apps, where algorithms determine to price, inDriver offers a unique service by allowing passengers and drivers to independently negotiate the fare of the ride. If the passenger receives multiple offers, they can take their pick based on the driver’s ETA, rating, price, and vehicle model.
The driver can also choose a particular order based on the price and distance, the passenger’s rating, the pick-up location, and the number of inDriver trips the customer has already taken.
“We are excited to bring inDriver to Nepal. We are now operating our services in Kathmandu Valley and will soon be launching our services in all major cities of Nepal. For at least the first six months of operation in Nepal, inDriver will not charge drivers a commission fee, meaning they will receive the entire fare of every ride (excluding applicable taxes and tolls).
Thereafter, the commission fee for drivers will be significantly lower than that of other ride-hail services operating throughout the city.
inDriver has already signed up more than 4,000 drivers in Nepal.” said Ms. Pavit Nanda, South Asia PR Manager, inDriver.
To book a ride request, the passenger inputs the pick-up and drop-off points in the app along with the estimated price of the trip.
Drivers registered in the system are immediately notified of this request to accept the order, ignore it, or offer their own price for the trip.
inDriver’s RTD model brings power back to the people by allowing the driver and the passenger to directly negotiate fares.
For example, through the app, passengers could pay as little as NPR 270 for traveling from Gongabu Bus Park (Kathmandu) to Satdobato (Lalitpur) and NPR 130 for traveling from Thamel to Boudhanath.

Startups in India are attempting to identify effective solutions while also acting as conduits for socioeconomic growth and transformation through innovation and scalable technology.
India’s startup environment has grown dramatically during the previous two decades. Some startups have existed since the year 2000. This ecology, however, has not yet reached maturity.
There are few incubators and accelerators, and there are few active investors. Since 2000, several investors have successfully departed the endeavor, and the number of startups has increased significantly in the previous decade, earning support in all dimensions.
The Indian startup environment has changed dramatically during the previous decade. India’s business circles have come a long way toward entrepreneurship. It has aided in the development of startup ecosystems that thrive on new technology and inventions, hence fostering an atmosphere favorable to job creation and entrepreneurship.
As a result, private equity and venture capital (PEVC) investors in India are quickly expanding, boosting their startup investment, which looks to have increased tremendously this decade. A substantial number of startups are being established. Not just in the realm of technology, but also in consumer, financial, and logistical services.
The fast expansion of India’s startup ecosystem may be attributed to four major causes. They are listed below.
Because of the enormous commercial potential of startups, India is often recognized as the “poster child of the growing market.” Every specific kind of goods has its enormous market potential in a country with a population of roughly 1.3 billion people.
Economic changes in the 1990s contributed to India’s transition to a market-based economy.
Overall economic growth has grown more dynamic as a result of this liberalism. The Indian economy’s GDP hit 2.726 trillion in 2017. When India’s GDP increased by 7% in 2018, it became the world’s fastest-growing economy. As a result, it is recognized that the Indian market can give several chances to entrepreneurs.
At the same time, India’s demographic condition provides an additional benefit. Half of the population is under the age of 25, and they are extremely excited. Between 1980 and 2000, over 700 million individuals were born with the potential to have materialistic desires as well as the ability to spend and make those dreams a reality.
Technological Adaptability
As India’s internet connectivity strengthened, market access obstacles began to fall. Furthermore, the Government of India’s ‘Digital Literacy Campaign’ has increased digital literacy among the general population, making individuals aware of the digital world.
Startups rely on market access as well as the ability to locate and profit from customers.
The Aadhaar biometric ID system, implemented in 2009, makes it easier for businesses to authenticate their clients’ information using the unique identification number assigned to Indian people.
Following administrations have likewise concentrated on aggressively creating bank accounts and encouraging financial inclusion through the expansion of digital payments. As a result, the majority of Indian residents may now make digital payments and readily access government benefits and awards. As a result, they are becoming a part of the formal economy.
India Stack included Aadhaar and a payment system. The India Stack was envisioned as a new social infrastructure to convert India into a 21st-century digital economy. The government’s objective was to expand financial inclusion to support the 2016 banknote demonetization and encourage fintech firms. Fintech businesses received the most funding in 2018.
Strengthening political will and government support
The Indian government is on a quest to develop a robust startup environment, which is admirable. The government has launched several programs and schemes to assist entrepreneurs.
India Initiatives is a significant startup. It offers tax benefits to investors that engage in product innovation, development, and ‘prosperity.’ The program is intended to assist businesses in expanding their contacts with customers and investors by offering monetary assistance. Startups are now an essential element of the Indian economy and the primary source of FDI.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government, which came into power in 2014, prioritized digital transformation in its national strategy. Some provincial governments, including the federal government, have recognized startups as essential economic growth engines. Startups are also anticipated to generate jobs, contributing to the country’s high unemployment rate. Startups accounted for 2.64 percent of total employment in India in 2018.
The Modi government has also made several efforts to assist the business. The main project ‘Startup India’ was launched in 2016. The project was created to foster a strong atmosphere favorable to the creation and development of beginning firms, hence generating long-term economic growth and numerous job possibilities.
The government established a fund of 100 billion Indian rupees for the initiative, as well as financial help to incubators, tax-free perks, and assistance with the business formation.
Aside from that, the Government of India has designated January 16 as National Startup Day to spread startup culture throughout the country.
Vibrant private equity and venture capital ecosystem
The large PEVC ecosystem in India is a significant component in building the startup ecosystem. The most difficult obstacle most startups confront in their early years is a lack of financing. Startups require capital for several reasons.
Funding is required for prototype and product development, team building, operational capital, legal and advisory services, raw materials and equipment, marketing, and sales, among other things. This is where PEVC comes in handy. The private equity and venture capital ecosystems provide entrepreneurs with market access.
It can restructure and sustain its expansion. Furthermore, PEVC offers mentorship and support to entrepreneurs at various stages.
It contributes to highlighting the company’s true potential. According to the ICCA, an organization of private equity and venture capitalists in India, 2021 would be a pivotal year for PEVC investments. That year, India got the largest ever PEVC investment, totaling around 63 billion. 2017 was also a record-breaking year.
PEVC investment grows year after year. So far, investment outflows have totaled around 32 billion in 2021. This would enable Indian entrepreneurs to raise additional money in the coming months.
The PEVC ecosystem in India has gone a long way. It had a modest beginning decades ago. Due to the paucity of startups in the nation at the time, relatively few PEVCs were active, but India has since grown to become one of the world’s largest and strongest ecosystems. Only superpower economies such as the United States and China are ahead of India in this regard. In the year 2021, 44 Indian firms were designated as Unicorns.
In 2021, India will have 83 unicorns with a total market value of $277.77 billion. The majority of these are associated with the unicorn service industry, which accounts for 50% of India’s GDP.

According to a Mckinsey report issued in November 2020, Asia has outpaced all other regions in terms of payments-revenue growth over the past several years.
The region is also the largest contributor to global payments revenue, generating over US$900 billion in 2019, nearly half the global total.
Asia’s payments industry is expected to return to mid-to-high single-digit growth rates and, by 2022 or 2023, generate more than US$1 trillion in annual revenue.

The competitive landscape was simultaneously heating up, with the entry of formidable new players–including telecommunications firms, fintech, “big techs,” and other conglomerates–spurring incumbents to step up their own innovation efforts.

Nepal Online School, developed by Nabin, where 70,000 students study for free daily. Mr. Bhattarai has created a team of like-minded individuals to provide free quality education consisting of highly motivated engineers, teaching and learning expertise, IT experts, doctors, and Chartered Accountants working their best.
With this aim, in 2017, 30-year-old Nabin opened Nepal Online School, providing free education to all Nepali students. He opened a non-profit organization that has enabled millions of students to take online classes for free today.
They created more than 30000 video content on various subjects for the all-around development of the student. Also, various notes and homework sessions are being conducted in various programs.
Nepal Online School (NOS) is motivated with the aim of imparting Quality Education to every interested student who doesn’t have access to appropriate materials to pursue their study.
Several factors such as geographical inaccessibility, political unrest, lack of proper guide/teacher, and lack of proper monitoring and supervision of schools and teachers, and unnatural causes (for present COVID-19) are some of the main challenges that need to be addressed to make quality education a reality, especially in the rural areas of Nepal.
NOS is striving diligently to provide students with proper learning materials and detailed video lectures on every possible topic to facilitate learning for students who otherwise don’t have access to such information.
Mr. Nabin Bhattarai, the founder and mentor of NOS, started this initiative with money raised through boot camps he conducted on cybersecurity and network engineering.
While running the boot camps, he found that students struggled to understand the content because of a lack of a solid foundation in Physics and Mathematics.
This made him think about tackling this issue of filling in the gaps that the current education trend generally stays with. How could students be shown that value is not only in the certificates they acquire, but it stays with the quality of education they achieve? He realized that a platform where students can revisit some of those concepts will be useful and started the Nepal Online School.
Now it has expanded to accommodate different topics from Grade 1 to the Masters level. The intention of Nepal Online School is quality education with practical knowledge.
Similarly, we believe that a strong and joyful mind is a prerequisite for learning. Yoga and meditation camp, in addition to academic learning, will benefit the mental and physical development of students, and this approach will surely show students their capabilities, due requirements, and future course of action.
Bring like-minded people together in creating videos on every possible topic from kindergarten to Master’s level in Nepali language and create a YouTube channel.
Helping the physically disabled people who have special needs for learning through various audio series and video lectures. (We see that these contents have been most helpful to these communities because of several physical obstacles and the mental attitude of society towards them on joining an academic institution. They have repeatedly called us, helping us develop ingenious content for them.)
Conducting various skill-oriented activities like computer hardware and software training, soft skill training, yoga, and meditation classes in every part of the country.
Conducting various motivation and awareness programs related to psychology and physiology so students from any age group can better deal with their health issues and pressure they get from their work.
Helping the dropout students so they can learn a skill and use that skill in their own country. The skills can be computer skills, agriculture-based skills, art skills, and so on.
As the present age is of Technology and it has been an essential skill for everyone, we have started NEPALESE IT STUDY COMMUNITY where every student can gain knowledge on professional skills required to enter into IT Infosec or corporate sectors.
Youtube Channel

Golu is a chatbot. In simple language, a chat robot. It can also be understood as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
It already contains answers that match the question.
According to the question, it answers itself. This service has become common abroad. It is also being used by some business entities in Nepal. Golu, on the other hand, seems to be a little different as he speaks in Nepali.
Golu was built by scientists Bishesh Khanal, Azad Chhatkuli, Dandapani Poudel, Binod Bhattarai, and Suman Raj Bista. They are doing this through the software company ‘Dio AI Technology’. All five are co-directors of the company.
‘Some of our banks have put chatbots on their online services. But they are rarely used. Due to the lack of English language and many features, it has been used less, ‘said Golu’s co-producer Vishesh.
He is an expert in artificial intelligence research. It has been three years since he returned to France, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom for eight years to conduct research-based studies.
Azad Chhatkuli and Dandapani Poudel are post-doctoral researchers at ETH Zurich University in Switzerland.
Vinod Bhattarai is a post-doctoral researcher at Imperial College London and Suman Raj Bista is a post-doctoral researcher at the Australian Center for Robotic Vision at the Queensland University of Technology. In addition, all four co-operators are doing their work from abroad.
In particular, Azad and Suman have been friends since studying at the Pulchowk Engineering Campus. Dandapani had a special meeting in London while studying for a master’s degree and Vinod. In this way, five people became friends through special means and they have been cooperating for the last six years.
There is no special reason behind naming Golu. This is what everyone on the construction team liked in the process of finding an easy-to-remember, short and fun name. The name of the company has been kept in mind. The symbol of light, the idea of giving light through technology, was chosen by the special.
Features of Golu
The use of the Golu by these five scientists to provide information about the corona is not limited to this. Here people can ask any kind of question. Golu talks back, answering in a pleasant way. If there is no answer to any question, he also says ‘I don’t understand.
Golu lets you read jokes, news, horoscopes as well as attendance answers. The company has also identified Golu as a talking robot friend when he is lazy or looking for someone to talk to.
‘People liked this chatbot and a lot of questions started coming up. And we added and updated the program and made it possible to ask any questions, ‘said the 34-year-old special.
It has been only one year since Diyo was established. But he has been active in this work since his return to Nepal. He co-founded Diyo in 2018 with three other co-directors and three other friends.
It is a reputed non-profit organization that conducts research on AI and computer science in Nepal. The lamp has come into operation under this organization.
‘Research in Nepal is very weak. So in the beginning we had a reputation for doing something in this area, “We used to do research on how to advance advanced technology, mainly in Nepal’s industrial sector.”
For two years, he worked with some financial support. He said that the research could be carried out better if the money could be raised by working later.
Diyo currently employs 12 people, including researchers, engineers, and marketers.
While working at Nami, Vishesh and his friends got a close look at the business area here. Although there are many technology brands, most of the products have special experiences made by learning from abroad.
He says, ‘Learning from foreign technology is not wrong. But what is going on abroad may not be suitable for the Nepali environment, it should be brought only after research.
Therefore, Diyo is trying to bring necessary, suitable, and effective techniques according to the environment by studying.
A chatbot is the result of such an effort. It is said that information about any organization or product can be easily obtained from Diyo’s chatbot.
For example, ask someone for information about a bank’s services. You can go to its online platform and type in Nepali language or Roman. The answer comes from Uta in Nepali. This technology will be more useful not only in banks or companies but also in health, education, and agriculture.
‘Farmers do not have to look for experts to inquire about plant diseases. You can find the answers by going to the agriculture-related website with chatbot facility, ‘says Vishesh. With chatbot technology, you don’t have to ask for help from others for small things. ‘
Currently, Diyo is providing three types of services including chatbots. ‘Intelligent Web’ is another service in which the company builds an intuitive website using AI according to the needs of the local environment. And there is augmented reality (AR) technology. It is a technology that allows you to see something directly through digital media.
Now this service has been brought to jewelry shops. From this, you can go to the website of the shop and see if the jewelry is suitable or not.
After clicking on the photo of your favorite jewelry, the camera opens and it looks like you are wearing it on your own ear or neck. AR technology can also be used on online learning platforms. Students can experience things from a computer, just as science subjects are before their eyes.
According to the special, these services have been brought by Diyo keeping in view the Corona epidemic. Customers do not have to go to a jewelry store in a crowded place. Students can also experience physical classes online. Currently, Diyo is providing these services to Helmets Nepal, Amazon Web Service, and Utsav Jewelry.
According to the special, the amount of chatbots is decided on the basis of which level. Generally, the fee can range from two to three lakhs to 25-30 lakhs. It is expensive to work on the bank’s website for security reasons. Cheap to create a chatbot that only returns answers to questions. For AR, Diyo has not brought such an expensive facility, now it starts from Rs 1.5 lakh.
In the early days, they had trouble getting their services to the Nepali market. The operators did not know much about the market here. “Some of the software companies here are going to make the money and not do as they say,” he said, “so it’s hard to trust the software company.” It took a lot of effort. ‘
He says that the number of service seekers has decreased as most of them are not aware that AI technology makes many things easier.
What does he speak about AI?
The future of the world is dedicated to AI, so we should not fall behind in the old ways,” he says It is important to explain the benefits to the market so that software companies can create more effective products and sell them to foreign companies in the future.
According to him, AI can play a big role in economic transformation. But most of the technology we use is advanced without research, so users are not able to adapt. He says technology will not be of much use unless companies research the easy way to serve customers.
“Our aim is to localize AI with the Nepali environment,” he said. “Nowadays, AI is used in most areas. We are not able to take advantage of the way it has gained momentum. ‘

The easiest way to start video marketing is by defining the audience and checking age group, interest, lifestyle, gender, profession, and other interest.
Before starting video marketing, one should determine the objective. Either the content in it is Brand Awareness, Educational, or Entertainment.
If it is about brand awareness then, the video should be of 2 minutes. The content about the brand must be short and clear.

If you target the audience search and intend to satisfy their search and give solutions for their problems, it will really help get ranks.
70.6% of all traffic starts from a search engine. The #1 result in Google gets more than 30% of all clicks.
He also spoke about Review Schema, Video SEO, and Voice Search.
Review Schema basically provides information to search engines to understand your content better. Likewise, Schema reflects rich snippets if you provide your website’s valid review and ratings to search engines.
Similarly, Video SEO means optimizing video to be indexed and rank on the search engine result pages for relevant keywords.
The most interesting thing is that Google ranks some videos at the top for certain keywords.
Globally more than 27% of people use the voice search features on their mobile devices.
This is popular in the 16-34 age group—more the increment of smartphone users in Nepal, increment of voice search usage.

Kaha!! Is the new answer to the most asked question in our daily life?
Kaha meaning where? Is the question we ask if we don’t have any information on the location we need to be, or go or have to call someone and also to report any incidents? Furthermore, Kaha being a vague question, it is used to ask about the information on any landmarks, places, restaurants, houses, offices, and those you may think of. Being of its kind localized application; it’s easy to use and interact with and also provided with the national language makes it even used for all range of users.
KAHA is the new tool designed to answer the most asked question in less than a few clicks now from your smart devices. It is an application designed to share the accurate location of any KAHA questions that arise.
Comparing the scenario of international practice and our country we find a huge gap on the topic of location identification. As in practice in many international destinations, we see the naming of the roads linked to the street codes and sub roads identification. With the use of mailbox and similar other services, there never have been any problem related to the identification of the location.
Imagine today the current situation of location-identifying practice in Nepal. We generally answer the question Kaha? With nearby landmarks and symbolic guidance to connect.
Scenario 1:
“Where are you? Answered with the phrase like, come near the bus stop take a left and you will see a shop, cross the shop to 5 houses, you will see a black gate, when you will be there call me, I will come to receive you.”
Scenario 2:
“Sir this is ABC Company and I am here to deliver your product, where should I bring it? Replied with, come to setopul, you will see a petrolpump, come by the side of petrolpump and drive 200m towards anamnager. I will be standing on the road you will see me.? After an hour, sir I am at setopul now where? Replied with same answer.”

Kahaor ‘Where?’ – a simple concept, yet so difficult to grasp.
While the question is a gap, the Kaha app is the bridge that aims to narrow it.
Take a look back in the memory lane and ask yourself, “how many times have people rang you just to ask your exact location?”
Take an example of online delivery. Most eCommerce apps require GPS locations to be on and yet you won’t find the delivery person knocking at your door without ringing you first.
This still happens even if you have your house number and street address.
But why is it that most businesses, shops, companies, schools, restaurants, and so on do not use their full address?
On top of that, many streets or localities in Nepal have a similar name, if not the same.
That leads to confusion, which leads to delay, which then leads back to the ultimate question where?
With the start of New Year, the two big DTH companies are planning to merge together.
Dishhome and Prabhu TV are merging together. These firms, which previously provided Direct to Home (DTH), are planning to merge and provide services under one brand.
Since the previous year, these companies have also offered internet service. Sudip Acharya, CEO of Dishhome, said that the merger is being planned by combining and making both internet and TV available under the same brand name.
He claims that discussions about a merger have been ongoing for some time. The decision has not made yet. However, the two companies have decided that integrated services are the only option that is better.
“In this small market, a merger is needed to provide better services as one company rather than several companies,” he explained. Despite the recent introduction of the Clean-feed policy, the television services industry has shrunk.
As a result, the merger is being debated. ‘However, no conclusion has yet been drawn.’

This is a big issue but the new e-commerce company Sryngar only sells original and branded goods. Sryngar is a newly established e-commerce company in Nepal.
Sryngar only sells branded cosmetics, skincare, and clothing, according to the company’s manager, Ravi Duwal.
Only branded goods from the branded companies will be able to sell through Sryngar.
